A dynamic typeface sensitive to sound

A dynamic typeface sensitive to sound

Kontrapunkt have developed a typeface that changes appearance based on surrounding sounds for Chinese audio tech company Goertek.

In collaboration with Nippon Design Center of Japan, Kobtrapunkt explored a variable typeface design that changes appearance by vibrating in different frequencies and wave types based on advanced opensource technology.

Fully understanding the brand and the meaning of sound, the work is a great example of expressing the core company beliefs through an innovative and smart design language.  The typeface is used primarily in signage and aims to always be informative and appropriate while bringing through the personality of the brand.
